run as administrator?
This may be a silly question but in all of my years of playing games I've never used this until now. Bought a new computer and for the first time I had OOTP21 crash all the way to making the computer reboot.
Checked drivers, white listed OOTP from anti-virus, and started the game as administrator. Knock on wood three games played and no issues. My question is does "run as administrator" stick and I can go back to just clicking the icon? Or do I have to right click and run as administrator every time? Thanks. |

This was a major problem for me in Windows 7, if something had been installed by "administrator" you had to run it that way on purpose or it would crash. I still run 21 on my Win7 machine, so I'm used to that drill and did it that way.
I haven't noticed it in Win 10 as much, so I thought that was less of an issue. Maybe you installed it as "administrator"? I'd keep running it that way if it works, I just got in the habit of running it as "admin" on Win 7 like every other program.

You can modify the properties of the EXE or the shortcut. Read the info below. I learned that there are 13 ways to do this. I prefer step 12.
