Seattle Mariners (2021 Daily Playthrough)
Going to try my hand at a daily playthrough of the Seattle Mariners 2021 season... where I've made, like, 15 trades before advancing a single day. So, realism may not be at a premium.
March 31st, 2021 Met with John today, he is pushing the usual, “stay close to an even record”, bit… our aim here, however, is the playoffs – I mean I didn’t spend the last hour dinking around with the trade AI for nothing, right? New faces… SP Josh Lindblom 1B Bobby Dalbec SP Matt Peacock SP Matt Manning 2B David Fletcher (will likely slot in at SS for us) C Austin Hedges LF Joc Pederson 2B Kolten Wong SP Aaron Sanchez SP Matthew Boyd And me (Morgan, Red, the voice of God, whatever)... Seattle's new VP of Baseball Operations, General Manager, and whatever else I want to dig into The biggest names I’ve shipped out so far are Pax, Seager, and JP Crawford… Haniger & the newly acquired Joc Pederson probably shouldn't get too comfortable either... Unlike John, who didn’t even mention all my awesome moves, the baseball punditry seems to be picking up what I’m putting down – they’ve penciled us in as the likely AL West winner, and, if I’m being honest, I think they’re being a bit conservative there. We’re coming for the crown. So, get yourself out to Vegas and book it. Next up: Opening Day or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Grind... Last edited by pauwoo; 04-02-2021 at 09:13 AM. |

Opening Day - April 1st, 2021
Ahh… I love the smell of pine tar in the morning…
San Francisco Giants (0-0, .000, t-1st NL West) @ Seattle Mariners (0-0, .000, t-1st AL West) This year’s version of the Giants aren’t exactly held in the highest regard – they are likely a couple of years away from true contention while they wait out some bad contracts, but they’re better than they look (maybe – they have a lot of bounce back types) and should have enough in the tank to give us problems should our focus wane at home. 1 of 162: Kevin Gausman (0-0, 0.00) @ Marco Gonzales (0-0, 0.00) Win, 7-1. Off on the good foot… Marco pitched a gem – 8 innings, 6 hits, and 1 earned while fanning 7 – Haniger reintroduced himself to the hometown faithful with a double in his first at-bat and a 2 for 4 day at the plate overall, Bobby Dalbec put one out of the park in his Seattle debut, and Austin Hedges did the same. Two runs for the reigning Rookie of the Year, 3 swiped bags for the club, and a tasty France-Wong-Dalbec double play on defense as well. All systems go, this is our year – I can feel it. Also, I should note that we brought our entire lineup up to the plate during the 5th frame…we got one of those fancy achievements and everything Elsewhere: Miguel Sano went 2 for 3 with 2 jacks, 4 RBI, 3 runs, and a walk during Minnesota’s opening day, 11-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. Whoa Nellie Cruz and Mitch Garver also put balls out for the Twins, and SP Kent Maeda finished 1 for 3 with a 2-run single he laid down with two outs already on the board in the 5th. Record: 1-0 Up Next: More home cookin' against the Giants... |

2 of 162: Alex Wood (0-0, 0.00) @ Matthew Boyd (0-0, 0.00)
Loss, 7-10. Boyd was dialed in early, keeping the San Francisco hitters off-balance and unsure of themselves until… he wasn’t – a harrowing top of the 6th frame, where 5 runners found their way home, spelled our doom, and gave San Francisco all the cushion they’d need to earn their first win of the season. Ty France went 4 for 5, scored, and drove one in, another 2-hit day from Meetch, and Hedges hit his second homer in as many games. Some solid work offensively here, but the pitching came unglued during the 6th and, unfortunately, we were unable to right the ship in time to claw our way back into this one. Rubber match tomorrow… Sorta cool: Each of our starters finished the game with at least one hit today. Elsewhere: CF Luis Robert, of the Chicago White Sox, went 4 for 5 with a two-bagger, two trucks, 4 RBI, and a couple of runs to lead his club to a solid 10-8 win over the Los Angeles Angels. The White Sox win despite Trout putting two balls over the fence during the game, both off Lance Lynn. Record: 1-1 Up Next: We’ll close out this set against San Francisco. |

Looking good, feeling good… I hit up the Blue Star Café on my way to the park for a to-go order of Seattle’s best Migas – we’re 1-1 (low-key meh), the sun is trying to find it’s way through the clouds, and I’m about to dig into 3 large Wilcox Farm eggs topped with chorizo, tortilla strips, green onions, jack cheese… so, we get a win today and life is wonderful.
Top 100 Prospects report is out… how we fared: 6. Julio Rodriguez 8. Matt Manning 9. Jarred Kelenic 18. Logan Gilbert 23. Emerson Hancock 3 of 162: Johnny Cueto (0-0, 0.00) @ Matt Peacock (0-0, 0.00) Win, 10-3. The offense stays hot, and the pitching was much improved… Peacock went the distance, fanned four, allowed 6 hits, and three runs while keeping our bullpen fresh, Wong drove two in on a 2 for 4 day, 2-run moonshot for Ty, 2-run blast for Dalbec, and two more hits for Haniger round out the individual highlights. As a unit, we hit 3 doubles (Meetch has three on the year so far…), 3 homers (Meetch got his first of those today…), and secured 4, 2-out RBIs during the contest. So, a good effort all around. Matt Peacock wasn't playing games today, and, as a result, took home our PoTG honor... A complete game in his Seattle debut will be a nice little factoid to store in the memory banks for the Seattle Sports trivia night hosted by my local watering hole. Some other facts about Peacocks to store away for trivia night? Look no further. Elsewhere: Elvis Andrus went 3 for 4 with 2 trucks, 3 RBI, and 2 runs to lead the charge for Oakland as they turned back the Houston Astros by a score of 5-3. Matt Chapman followed Andrus’s lead with a 2 for 4 day that included a two-bagger and a 2-run dinger that served as ample padding to get this one added to the permanent record. Record: 2-1, .667 Up Next: A respite from the grind... |

It’s never too early for the injury bug to wreck things… Slam Diego’s Fernando Tatis Jr will miss ~4 weeks due to a strained oblique suffered on Opening Day. Not great – we need our most exciting players to stay healthy. Let’s hope he recovers fully and with the quickness…
We’re off today as we patiently wait for the much-ballyhooed Chicago White Sox to saunter into town for a 3-game set. Not everyone had the day off, of course… Austin Dean put in some work against Cincinnati – a double, two jacks, and 3 RBI in a 9-2 win for STL – and Marcell Ozuna got after it against Philadelphia as he went 4 for 4 with a double, a dinger, and 3 runs during the Braves’ unfortunate 5-7 loss on the road. Up Next: Back at it against the formidable Chicago White Sox. |

Chicago White Sox (2-2, .500, 4th AL Central) @ Seattle Mariners (2-1, .667, 2nd AL West)
So far, Chicago looks to be every bit as good as they say (don’t let their .500 record fool you - +7 RDiff and -1 against the Pyt)… and we’ll likely face Giolito during the second of this three-game set. So, this will be a sturdy, early-season challenge for us – one that we’ll need to navigate with the dignity and aplomb of a seasoned captain if we are to stay the course I’ve charted for us this season. Every game counts – so if we are presented with opportunities to bank some W’s we’ll need to capitalize. 4 of 162: Carlos Rodon (0-0, 0.00) @ Nick Margevicius (0-0, 0.00) Loss, 0-3. Rodon was masterful over 8-innings of work where he allowed only 4 hits while fanning 8 – not our best look and certainly not the type of performance that inspires confidence given that Giolito will be on the bump tomorrow. Not much to go around in the way of highlights either – Ty wore one in the ribs and hit a double – a first for each so far this season - Fletcher hit his first triple of the year, and Dalbec committed his first fielding flub while donning a Mariners kit. We left 8 runners stranded, so the whole ‘we have to take advantage of the opportunities we create’ bit must’ve gone in one ear and out the other. Elsewhere: Mike Brosseau (do you even Scuba, bro?) led the Rays to a 10-9 victory over the Red Sox with a 5 for 5 performance that included two doubles, 3 RBI, and a run, and Oakland’s Matt Chapman went 3 for 5 with a double, a dinger, 4 RBI, and a couple of runs to help his Athletics earn a hard-scrabble, 8-7 win over the Los Angeles Trouts. Weekly Power Rankings are out… 1. Minnesota Twins 2. Oakland Athletics 3. Washington Nationals 4. Kansas City Royals 5. Philadelphia Phillies 6. Seattle Mariners San Diego is 15th, LAD 18th, NYY 23rd, ATL 24th, and the NEW YORK METS are 28th. Money, money, money… money. Record: 2-2 Up Next: We'll face Giolito... yikes. 5 of 162: Lucas Giolito (0-1, 7.50) @ Josh Lindblom (0-0, 0.00)
Win, 2-1. We battled here, slogging our way through a tight, taut pitchers’ duel until we found our opening, during the bottom of the final frame, when Austin Hedges hit a Liam Hendriks fastball to left for a 2-run, walk-off single that sent the hometown faithful into a tizzy. We were patient and measured in our approach against the White Sox staff when we needed to be, earned 5 free passes to go along with our 15 Ks as a squad (Haniger & Fletcher each came within a K of a Golden), and, ultimately, just kept chipping away at them until Hedges found a way to channel his inner Ethan Hawke and seize the day. Elsewhere: Javier Baez finished 3 for 5 with 2 dingers, 4 RBI, and 3 runs in the Cubbies’ 9-4 win over the struggling Milwaukee Brewers. At 1-4 and mired at the bottom of the table with the rest of the riff-raff, the Brew Crew needs to find a way to shake the sheets and wake up before this thing takes root and gets away from them… having the 2nd worst starters ERA and worst OBP in the National League just isn’t going to get it done, folks. Record: 3-2 Up next: An opportunity to take the series, at home, against a better-than-average club before making the hop to Minnesota for a 3-game set. Our first afternoon game today - we’ll head out to SeaTac as soon as this one is over to fly the friendly skies to Minneapolis for a 3-game set against the Twins that the schedule maker decided to stretch out across 4 days… listen, that extra day of per diem isn’t going to break the bank or anything, but what am I supposed to do in Minneapolis on a day off? Sample a Tater Tot Hotdish? Curds? Both?
6 of 162: Reynaldo Lopez (0-0, 0.00) @ Marco Gonzales (1-0, 1.12) Win, 4-3. Another day, another barnburner – after Chicago put a couple of bad ones on us in the top of the 1st we were unable to get anything of our own going until late. Down 3 in the bottom of the 7th, we’d finally punch our first through on a run-scoring single from Kyle Lewis that brought Ty France home and we’d follow that up during the bottom of the 8th with 3 more to get out in front and stay there. A solo shot from Joc, a run-scoring triple from Ty, and a run-scoring single, with two outs and runners on the corners from David Fletcher, would, ultimately, seal the deal and send us off on our first road trip in glorious fashion. Elsewhere: Orlando Arcia, doing his level best to reverse Milwaukee’s early-season misfortunes, went 4 for 4 with a dinger, 2 RBI, and 3 runs in a losing effort for the Brewers as they fell by a score of 6-7 against the Cubs. Oof. Record: 4-2 Up Next: Off to the land of Ole and Lena jokes to play 3 games over the next 4 days. Last edited by pauwoo; 04-07-2021 at 09:57 PM. |

We had a turbulent flight from SeaTac to Minneapolis – not sure if it was the chop or our rowdy & boisterous club celebrating our rip-roaring start the 2021 campaign for the entire 3hr and 20-minute flight…
Seattle Mariners (4-2, .667, 2nd AL West) @ Minnesota Twins (5-1, .833, 1st AL Central) If the baseball pundits are to be trusted then Minnesota is, currently, everything those pesky White Sox aspire to be, and, so far, they’ve shown it on the field of play - 1st in runs scored, 2nd in OBP and wOBA, and 1st in HRs with a Starters ERA that ranks 3rd in the American League. They are, in a word, formidable. A good opportunity to see if we can keep the good times rolling, on the road against an expertly constructed professional baseball club. 7 of 162: Matthew Boyd (0-1, 7.50) @ Jose Berrios (1-0, 3.38) Win, 2-0. Berrios pitched a rock-solid, 6.1 innings for Minnesota allowing our two runs early before settling in and getting to work, but, despite his best effort, we prevailed on the back of Matt Boyd’s 4, 2-hit shutout innings and Sanchez’s 2 lockdown innings in relief… Doubles for Lewis and France, a SAC FLY for Joc, and some good fortune for us as the game was called in the 7th due to inclement weather. We’ve had 10 Grand Slams and 13 Golden Sombreros so far this year… The Slammers? Alec Bohn- PHI (TWICE – against the Mets & Braves, respectively) Michael Brantley - HOU Adam Duvall - MIA Jeff McNeil - NYM Anthony Rizzo - CHC Luis Robert - CWS Chris Taylor - LAD Gleyber Torres - NYY Pat Valaika - BAL The Golden Boys? Ronald Acuna Jr. - ATL Ian Happ - CHC Donovan Solano - STL Aaron Hicks - NYY Carlos Santana - Legendary Guitarist & First Baseman for KC Freddie Freeman - ATL AJ Pollock - LAD Michael A. Taylor - KC (TWICE) George Springer - TOR Hunter Renfroe - BOS Paul DeJong - STL Nate Lowe - TEX And, some dudes that have struck out 2x with the bags loaded… Matt Chapman - OAK (has K’d in 2 out of 3 BL opportunities) Khris Davis - TEX Ian Happ - CHC Joc Pederson - SEA (Ugh) Franmil Reyes - CLE Chris Taylor - LAD (In four opportunities – 2 Ks, 1 slam, 1 run-scoring single) Trea Turner - WAS Record: 5-2 Up Next: We get a day off, on the road, in Minnesota. Maybe I'll look for a Replacements cover band or something... Last edited by pauwoo; 04-08-2021 at 09:38 AM. |

Better than expected start for these M's, too bad the real M's can't quite keep up the pace at 3-4 after a 10-2 drubbing at the hands of those pesky Twinkies.

We have one of those weird, mid-series days off today which I will most likely spend at the Mall of America even though I plan on telling everyone that I’m headed to the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Listen, they have a Bonchon Korean Fried Chicken franchise in the food court and while I understand that Chick-fil-a and Popeye’s are all the rage right now, the reality is that Bonchon has the best fast-casual fried chicken on the market… bar none. Believe that.
They also have a couple of Oakley stores in the mall and I’m in the market for some EVZero Path’s to wear backward on my head at the park. Because that’s still cool, right? Right? Elsewhere: Eric Hosmer went 4 for 5 with a GRAND SLAM, 6 riblets, and a run scored during the Padres 10-4 win over the lowly Texas Rangers… Hosmer hit his 2nd dinger during the contest, Ivan Castillo hit a SAC FLY, and Jurickson Profar drove three in on 2 for 4 hitting. Never fear though… our slam to sombrero ratio remains intact as Anaheim’s DH/SP Shohei Ohtani put his first GOLDEN of the season in the books during an 8-4 loss against the Jays. Washington’s Ryan Zimmerman also put a GOLDEN up today as well – his came during a 9-11 loss against the Dodgers – so, if anything, our slam to sombrero ratio has improved. |

Side note: I look like a real Billy BA with my new EVZero’s. Hey, hey, hey… HEY LADIES.
8 of 162: Matt Peacock (1-0, 0.00) @ Michael Pineda (0-0, 5.06) Loss, 6-4. Bad news… we lost (Graveman gave up the ghost & blew it). Good news… we battled like a winning ballclub, confident in their ability to turn things around, does in these types of situations. And, yeah, you’re right – we’re getting paid, and trying hard doesn’t necessarily cut the mustard. Look, you can’t win them all, and dropping one to the formidable Twins is to be expected – they’re not the type to go quietly into the night – but I was hoping that we could extend this streak for just a few more games. Peacock gave up a run during the bottom of the 2nd frame, Joc finished 0-4 and is making his living well below the Mendoza Line (.138/1/2), and Fletcher got caught trying to get cute on the base paths… we’ll need to put this one behind us and move on to the next. Important question – are my new EVZero’s unlucky? Do I need to get them cleansed at the altar of Jobu? Elsewhere: Eloy Jimenez, of the Chicago White Sox, went 4 for 4 with TWO TRUCKS, 4 RBI, and 2 runs during a 7-5 win over the Kansas City Royals. Jimenez is now batting .367/.457/.967, 6 HR, 10 RBI on the year, and is still flexing the best-looking soul patch in the game. I should give him my EVZero's, maybe. Record: 5-3 Up Next: More silliness in Minnesota... might try to wrestle up a bowl of Booyah stew tonight. We'll see... |

The last one in Minnesota is an afternoon game… we’ll be boarding a plane bound for Baltimore immediately following this rubber match. Let’s hope for a less turbulent flight.
9 of 162: Nick Margevicius (0-1, 3.38) @ Alex Wood (1-0, 5.40) Win, 11-3. And if a house gets in my way, baby, you know I’ll burn it down… we picked ourselves up, dusted ourselves off, and came out swinging like champions – all good things… I’m back on those Migas (assuming I can find a respectable rendition of them in Baltimore), the Oakley’s are, in fact, not cursed, and our flight should be a rockin’ good time. Austin Hedges went 3 for 5 with a double, 3-run dinger, 5 RBI, and a run, Joc improved his average to .156, and Kyle Lewis went 3 for 5 with a run-scoring double. Great stuff from the staff today too – 3 total earned runs on 6 hits and 10 Ks as a unit. Oh, and our TWO DOUBLE PLAYS & TWO BURGLED BAGS didn’t hurt either… Elsewhere: A complete game, 2-hit shutout for LA’s David Price – he also fanned 8 during his club's dominant 7-0 win over the Washington Nationals. Record: 6-3 Up Next: We'll pay our respects to Snot Boogie and play some baseball against the Baltimore Orioles... |

Seattle Mariners (6-3, .667, 2nd AL West) @ Baltimore Orioles (5-4, .556, 3rd AL East)
Baltimore is operating on the lowest of expectations this year – to most of the punditry, they are either the absolute worst or second-worst club in the Majors… So far, in operating a scant 1 ½ games off the pace, and with an American League leading .280 batting average, the Orioles offense has shown some proof of life. Maybe Russell Crowe is on the way, ready and willing to rescue them from the baseball purgatory they’ve been mired in for what seems like forever – or, maybe not. Maybe, and this applies to our form as well, it’s just too early to make any kind of determination – we don’t have enough information, the sample size is too small, and all that. Power rankings are out… 1. Cleveland Indians 2. Oakland Athletics 3. Toronto Blue Jays 4. Atlanta Braves 5. Seattle Mariners (Who? What?) Mets are 11th, Dodgers 16th, Yankees 25th. Elsewhere: LF Eloy Jimenez (CWS) & 3B Carter Kieboom (STL) won PoTW for their respective leagues… 10 of 162: Josh Lindblom (0-0, 1.80) @ Jorge Lopez (1-0, 7.71) Win, 8-3. Here we sauntered into town, cocksure, ready to do some damage, and doing the Brutus as we strolled around the visitors’ clubhouse – and we’d apply that confidence on the field of play in what amounted to nothing less than an 8-3 shellacking… Dalbec drove a couple in, Hedges smashed a 3-run ding dong and now has 18 total RBI on the year, and Joc hit his 2nd double of the year – still hitting an anemic .162, tho… 3 doubles, two homers, a SAC BUNT from Ty, two burgled bags, and a couple of double plays for the good guys. All systems go. Elsewhere: Milwaukee’s Travis Shaw finished 2 for 3, with TWO DING DONGS (BTW - his nickname, in the game (and maybe real life?) is listed as 'Mayor of Ding Dong City' and I desperately need to find out if that is for real and why). SIX RBI, and 3 runs during the Brew Crew’s solid 10-4 win over the Chicago Cubs… with the win the Wisconsin based ballclub have clawed their way back to .500 and have exacted a small measure of revenge against their division rival here as they are now even against them (2-2) on the year. Edit: Mystery Solved! Record: 7-3 Up Next: We'll try to get at some blue crab tonight and then play some more baseball against the Orioles tomorrow... Last edited by pauwoo; 04-13-2021 at 12:50 PM. Reason: because I was Google sleuthing... |

Had a difficult time locating an acceptable bowl of migas today, so, based on our travel secretaries recommendation, I grabbed an Uber and headed to the Iron Rooster in Canton (about 14 minutes from the park, tolls included) and ended up with Crab Hash instead – and, if I’m being honest (and why wouldn’t I be), it was amazing – lump crab, home fries, bacon, some eggs, some asparagus, a chipotle hollandaise, and some Old Bay sprinkled in… I’m risking our new (almost) streak here, I know… but, when in Baltimore do as McNutty does…
11 of 162: Marco Gonzales (1-0, 2.57) @ Cole Hamels (0-0, 0.00) Win, 9-3. Comfortable. That’s how this one should be described. Extremely comfortable, like insanely high thread count comfortable after a 4-run 9th put us up by 6… Joc exploded with a 5 RBI day on 4 for 5 hitting (3 singles and a double), Fletch hit a 2-run ding dong, Kyle Lewis went 3 for 5 with a couple of runs, and Bobby Dalbec managed to plate twice and drew three walks. Hamels struggled for Baltimore – 5 earned over 4.2 innings – while Marco was serviceable in a gutsy 6.2 inning performance where Servais got caught rubbernecking some east coast birdies in the crowd and failed to yank him early enough in the 7th. Elsewhere: Hotlanta’s Ronald Acuna Jr went 3 for 5 with 2 jacks, 5 RBI, and 3 runs for the Braves as they continued to play with some real verve and defeated the Miami Fins by a score of 8-4 for the second day in a row. I mean, the wins, not necessarily the score. Atlanta is now 8-3, while Miami is off to a dismal 2-9 start to the 2021 campaign. And it’s been the offense where they rank 15th in runs, AVG, OBP, OPS, and wOBA that has held Miami back. Well, that and poor management at, literally, every level. Record: 8-3 Up Next: We continue our stroll through B'more, footloose and fancy-free... Last edited by pauwoo; 04-13-2021 at 07:00 PM. |

It was an 18-minute drive to get from the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel to Rosedale, MD where I found, with the help of yelp (HIP HOP), the La Tejana restaurant. With the tagline of ‘Breakfast Tacos for the People’ and with Solar Gap by Hinds playing in the background inside, I figured it’d be impossible to go wrong with this place… if you’re ever in the area check out their Super Migas vegetarian taco – authentic and, IMHO, a bit better than the low-key bootleg Tex-Mex style migas I’ve grown accustomed to in the PNW.
12 of 162: Matthew Boyd (0-1, 4.50) @ Rick Porcello (0-0, 3.00) Win, 9-4. We jumped on the Orioles early with 7 of our 9 runs coming inside the first two innings of the game – A 3-run moonshot from Dalbec in the first, followed by a Kolten Wong solo shot during the same frame, and we were off to the races… 3-run shot for Joc in the 2nd, RBIs from K-Lew and Fletch to round out the scoring, and a quality start from Boyd who gave us 8.2, allowed 13 hits (2 were homers), 4 earned, and even fanned a few. Nice to give the bullpen a rest. Just another nice, comfortable, and enjoyable contest for your Mariners… Note: Haniger was unable to enjoy today’s festivities as he finished 0 for 5 with 5 K’s today – our first, and hopefully only, Platinum Sombrero of the season… Elsewhere: New York’s Gio Urshela went 3 for 3 with 2 homers, SEVEN RBI, 3 runs, and a couple of free passes to lead his Yankees to a resounding 16-6 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. Aaron Judge joined in on the silliness with a 3 for 4 day that included a two-bagger, a GRAND SLAM, and 4 runs. The Yanks improved to a 4-8 record on the year with the win and are, undoubtedly, hoping that this W will be the one that gets them back on track. I mean, I didn’t ask them or anything, but… I gotta believe that Cashman is telling Boone that this better be the start of something spectacular. ALSO: RF Justin Williams, of the St. Louis Cardinals, hit for the cycle against the Washington Nationals today… the Cards took home the victory by a score of 6-1. It should be noted that, so far this year, Williams only has 9 total hits in 40 at-bats with, as I’m sure you are aware, 4 of them coming today. AND, to be filed under bummer biscuits – the Angels’ 3B Anthony Rendon will miss 6 weeks with a sore shoulder that he sustained while running the bases against Kansas City. He will be missed - not sure who will temporarily take the title of best hair in the game while Rendon is out. Record: 9-3 Up Next: More good food, good fish, and good fun in Baltimore... |

I’m going to miss the harbor view from my executive suite (but not all the pickpockets in & around the inner harbor) and will likely think back on it wistfully as we spend ~6 hours in the air on our way back to Seattle after today’s game…
13 of 162: Matt Peacock (1-0, 0.60) @ John Means (1-1, 2.53) Win, 9-2. SWEEP! It’s official… we’re adopting Camden Yards as our new home ballpark. Everything, save a 60-minute rain delay during the 5th, went smoothly for us here – Peacock gave us 5.1 quality innings of work, allowed three hits, an earned run, and fanned 6, Meetch and Fletch each hit a double, 4 total RBI for Haniger who hit a bases-clearing double, and no one put another Sombrero on the board today. We’re now in double digits for wins and are off to about as phenomenal a start as one could hope for… Just look at the domination! Record: 10-3 Up Next: We’re back at it tomorrow, at home, against the Houston Astros… so, this win, a nearly 6-hour slog back to SeaTac, followed by an evening game against the team we love to hate the most… which will then be followed by a 2-game series against the team they cheated on when it counted most. |
