Well, That's One Way to Lose a No-Hitter

My fictional Chicago White Sox ace starter, Ramiro Garcia, just lost a no-hitter. Which is hard to do. But he did it in such an especially awkward way that I just had to share it.

First of all, the White Sox got shut out, so even if he'd completed the ninth with the no-hitter intact, the game would have gone to extra innings.

And even before the fateful bottom of the 9th, Garcia had a perfect game going until the 7th, when he fielded a comebacker and promptly threw it into the stands for an error. That was the Cleveland Blues' only baserunner until the 9th. Oops.

But, oh, that bottom of the 9th...

Wow, that's rough... I guess at least he ruined his own perfect game at least! I saw multiple no-hitters last into late innings this year in my season with runs on the board from stuff like this, but they ended up spoiled (I turn pitcher stamina up so they're more common, but still).

I mean, it did, but the absurdity of the whole thing helped soften the blow.

Oh, and I forgot to mention in the first post that the catcher was a rookie making his major league debut...ouch.

Obligatory "not an official no-hitter" reply, because OOTPD still hasn't fixed that yet.

It would make a great story if he went on to being good on another team. Have that pitcher bean him every time at bat for revenge.
