So I am a newbie and am starting out with a fictional league with a draft to start it out. I notice as I am trying to get my starters drafted that some of the scouted talents that are good are rookies. How safe is it to be starting with 2 or 3 rookies? Is this a wise decision if there ratings are high or should I stick with a lesser scouted talent wise vet? Any opinions would be appretiated kinda worries me with a rookie starting pitcher and a couple rookies in the lineup. But if there talent is what my scout says it is I am hoping they will pay off.

It depends on what you are looking for and what kind of ratings system you are using. If all you have is talents, then you better draft high talent players... but if you have some ratings.. then its up to your philosiphy. You could hoard prospects and stink for a few years before becoming dominant and drafting them all. Or you could go for a mix; grabbing some prospects along with some established players. Or you could just try and win now and prospects be damned.
Its all up to you. I generally go for a mix. |
