Typical Salary Settings Ignored in OOTP21
The league started in 2016 with Superstar Quality Player typical salary set at $30,000,000.
Prior to changing over to OOTP21 I had a player that was above average but my #8 hitter, who wanted $15m/7yrs. Immediately after the change to OOTP21 he wants $35m/7yrs. Another player who is a star, some might argue a superstar but didn't lead the league in any category his entire career is asking for $80,000,000/7yrs. My #4 SP is asking for $40m/7. Other GMs are seeing similar demands all over the league. A 2b that if I had him would be a platoon player is asking for $39m/7yrs. -------- We did have a GM pay the top FA $80m/7yrs but that was what he was demanding. Bottom line is that these settings are simply being ignored. We have a $225m salary cap so these salary demands are disproportionate to the revenue of the teams and especially disproportionate to the production of the players. |

Is anyone going to even acknowledge that this was presented or are you intentionally trying to get people to quit buying OOTP versions but rather your other garbage like fake baseball cards?
This is what your loyal customers get? A buggy, unready piece of software with no support. That's great. Any chance I can just get a refund for this and move on? Last edited by Jockbrokers; 05-29-2020 at 03:32 PM. |

Sorry, we don't immediately answer every question.
As for the "typical" salaries, I don't really like that wording, since in reality, those values tend to be closer to a minimum salary than a truly "typical" salary, so setting the top bracket to 30M means that most superstars in the league will end up with salaries more in the 45-60M range. Every iteration of the game there are changes to player demands, and depending on what point of the season or off-season you're in, they can shift fairly heavily between versions, especially depending on what level of influence you put on stats. The simple answer I can give is that if you feel that demands are too high across the board for your salary cap situation, to drop the values slightly in those typical salary settings. The values you quote there definitely seem higher than even I'd expect, since players should very rarely ever demand more than twice the superstar salary, so if that setting is at 30M, they should rarely ask for more than 60M. It's possible that something like an inflation setting has caused those setting to increase more than expected - you mentioned the league starting in 2016 with the setting at 30M, but you didn't list what the current settings are. If you post what those settings are, perhaps that might help explain what is going on. And if they are still set lower, then it may be worth sending the league files over (https://support.ootpdevelopments.com...p-developments), and we can potentially investigate further to see what might be causing those escalating demands. |

I'm not the commissioner of the league but he claims that the settings have never changed from the starting year of 2016. The league is at opening day of 2036 right now.
He also claims that there is zero inflation. This is only one of 3 serious and 1 minor bug in the game. I quit/got kicked from this league today and do not plan on playing OOTP again until they are fixed. Honestly, after being a loyal buyer since the early days I would rather just get a refund and move on but I would still be willing to identify and help fix these problems if someone decides to care enough to deal with it. |
