Talking New User...

Hi all.... I just purchased OOTP5 yesterday with an elicense. The process was very easy and within in 5 mins. I was playing the game. I just needed to post on my thoughts of the game. I have been playing about 20 hours now and all I can say is that this game really pulls you in and keeps you from eating, sleeping, interacting with family. WOW, what a game! Thank you Marcus for a very well done game.... you really have a a SPECIAL game here.

Now back to my 7th season.... wondering how I`m going to lower my ticket prices. lol, they don`t like paying $16 a game for some reason. I`ll have to look in the manual. I`ll post again when I come up for air!!!!!!

They click up to $20 then down to $1 per ticket then the scale for prices starts again.

$14 is the limit, $15 in some cases. But for some reason doesn't matter who you are $20 dollars is a waste of time lol

In Milwaukee, $7 is too much!

Ootp is definitly the leading cause of divorces across the nation. Not to mention, smelly breath, greasy hair, and a beard that looks like ZZ Top.

WOW.... great responses.... thanks for the help Steve. I`m setting it back to 10 and trying to build a fan base for the Oakland franchise.

Just a couple of questions... do most managers run spring training or just let the computer do it for them? It looks like that you can really effect your players skills. I`ve personally cut down on power to increase making contact. Looks very interesting... not sure about pitching results... Ideas or tips anyone?

I have found that its tough to get a 4 or 5 star player to the majors without losing stars along the way. Any ideas why? Even with ledgendary scouts and minor managers.... every player loses stars along the way.

I run ST because you can make some changes if you want. As far as the players "not making it", in OOTP there are NO sure things as far as players go just like IRL. You can check the search feature and find a number of threads on player development.

Thanks Steve.... I found a great article in another post on player development. I just need to get another decent pitcher or 2 to make the playoffs, before my stars get too old to win and I have to start rebuilding.....

Any thoughts on adding the ability to trade ammy picks in the future of OOTP?

You can use the "draft utility" and do it now, it can be found http://www.adventureran.com/mods.htm

The game can be played either way. I think that is what you are asking.

What I am asking is..... if I download the utlility program... when I`m playing my season.... will the AI teams offer me trades that include ammy picks?

Such as a #1 pick for Reggie Jackson just as an example.

No. The utility is mainly for online leagues who trade ammy picks and then have to reorder the draft, etc.
