Sac flies

My first version of OOTP is this one...love it

One question...is it just me, or do sac flies NEVER, or at most, rarely happen? I dont remember ever having a runner on third with less than two out and ever scoring on a sac fly. Its a joke, I score more often with two outs from third than I do with one or no outs.

MLB average SF per team in 2019 was 38.3. That's .2345 per game.

In my last OOTP season my team had 53. 2 seasons ago it was 33.

How many have you seen? How many games played? What was your expectation?

You can also go to statistics>team stats and there is a SF column so you can see the whole league at a glance.

If your numbers don't match real life then it is probably a league total modifier issue that can be solved by running "autocalc modifiers" before the season starts. This button disappears as soon as the first game is played.

How would this change anything? OOTP has a LTM for SF so I assume numbers are realistic already. So with a runner on third the game is already under the hood "trying to lift the ball" if it is in fact producing realistic SF numbers.

So this button would do what? Increase SF to unrealistic numbers for the human team? Have no real effect? What is the penalty if not successful? More likely to K? Weak popups?

Just curious how you would see this implemented?

Its an instruction to a player. Gives me something to click on during the game. Honestly besides pitcher management the only thing I click is 1 or space bar the entire game. It the current game it would nothing like mound visits.

The problem is OOTPb doesn't have a manager shout function. The manager should be able to shout go for the sac fly then based upon various morale and relationship factors he either tries to oblige the manager or ignores the old man. More to do with the actual team then the result on the field. The result on field is always from attributes, stats and ltm. But this would add a morale, body language and motivation level to the individual games. Just like mound visits shouldn't effect the pitchers ratings but there should be the morale/relationship/demeanor aspect to the game.

There is very little interaction between the manager and the player. Its likes managing baseball cards not players. Guess I've been playing too much Football Manager lately. Its a different world there.
