Worst Draft Pool Ever

In the 2023 season. Number one prospect had full five star potential as is pretty standard. Next best players just 2.5 star potential. Then down to 2 star potential by the time you got to the back of the first round. I've never seen a worse draft class. Anyone else experience something like this?

What do the OSA scouts think? You might have a favor ability type scout.

That's pretty standard. The majority of the MLBers are right around 2.5 stars. There are maybe 1 dozen players in the MLB with 4.5/5 stars. And another dozen maybe with 4 stars. That's out of about 300 active players.

You are probably focused too much on ratings. The truth no one knows us, the ai, scouts who will develop and who won't develop. The draft you have to use stars and ratings because it is all you got. But after that its all about their stat lines over 3 years. If its a batter they need 300 at bats each year. A pitcher needs around 100 innings if a starter etc.

Plus no one truly develops until they get MLB experience. Some of those 2.5 guys will be busts but some will be all stars. And a handful have the chance to turn into 5 star superstars.

But even superstars usually take 3 years to develop. Everyone else could take 5 to 6 years.

Lol remember that era when draft classes potential were pretty much bloated and everyone normalized once the players hit your minors?

Bunch of thread about “why did my top prospect lose so much potential?”

The old way was just a mess and made development look even more random.

Keep in mind guys, games like MLB the show can bloat some of its drafted players because it doesn’t have a full draft and doesn’t even have full minors.
