Innovative Online League Rules

Hey guys,

Looking for a couple of thoughts of what other leagues do that might be different types of rules/changes to their league. I saw a couple such as:

Teams can nominate one former player be made into a coach during the offseason. Example would be making Derek Jeter a hitting coach and being put into the coaches pool.

Another was giving GMs a cash bonus in game for writing articles about their team.

Any other things leagues do to create buzz and interest?? Please post. Thanks.

In my leagues, and the FBNC, the Champions get either a Book on Baseball, a Coffee Mug, or a Beer Mug, branded with the championship info... The award is based upon my current finances... lol...

We allow Team Switching in off-season once every 5-8 years depending on league and availability...

We don't necessarily nominate retired players to become coaches, but I do that on my own, but will take GM's requests too...

Also we do a lot with voting to get input from the GMs to tackle things like expansion, draft rounds, bla bla bla...

I love a non-scouting league. Evens things up as no one gets stuck with a bad scout.

We take any retired player that is 45 years and older that wants to be a coach and make them a bench coach.

We have a Learn a Pitch rule for Int Complex players

We have a Veteran Learn a Pitch rule for older SPs trying to hang on to stay in the league

Many others including Custom Revenue Sharing, Net Neutral Owner Revenue, Created Players for FA, Draft....

Guys,

How about other fun ideas you do with your league?

As an example...we are going to broadcast the World Series via twitch.

We will have a gambling channel on slack. Allowing gms to bet on things that can cost OOTP $$ or draft picks.
