Minor League Players Vanish when Minor Leagues Contract

I'm playing a historical sim with real minor leagues imported. They're constantly in flux, and every time I "lose" an affiliate, all of those players just kind of disappear. In order to make them usable again, I have to find them (either in a player development report OR by using the finder if I remember their names), promote them to the major league club and demote them again to the minors.

Any ideas?

Many end up hidden on your lowest minor league team. Run AI on that team, or your entire minor leagues and they'll reappear.
