Anybody got any really hard challenges I can try? I'm getting a little bored...

Unless you are really into crunching numbers (simming seasons) and seeing the end result chances are you will get bored. Or coaching the games out.

Once you master the mechanics the human is basically unstoppable and can either win a dozen World Series in a row or at least make it to the WS or series championship. Have the best roster and the best minor league system. Increasing difficulty doesn't really do much.

There is not enough dynamic GM game mechanics that change the game world to make it unique over multiple playthroughs of the same style game universe. One really has to like number crunching and seeing the results or they really like coaching the day to day games. Example if you are always doing modern mlb opening day then most of the time it will be extremely similar even if you crank up TCR. The changes are not so vast that it feels completely different.

Typically what will slow the human player down the most is doing an expansion team in a tiny market. It can slow the player down maybe 5 years just because you have no farm system and no good players to do trades and you make no money. So you can't really improve scouting/development or sign good free agents. So you have that slow grind in the beginning. And this may not increase difficulty it just makes it a slower grind to superiority.

A lot of players love the playing out of games as a team manager. OOTP as far as managing goes does a really good game day experience. It also really does the crunching of numbers to get realistic results really good. So many players just like to sim 20 seasons and see their results. I don't like the managing/playing out of day to day games. I usually only play out a game when I acquire a new player or calling someone up to the show for their first big game. Some kind of milestone etc.

Me I am here for the GM experience. Sadly not much has changed in 5 versions. And it does get boring because its always basically the same. The GM experience is not dynamic and doesn't feel "alive" it is very flat and lifeless because everything is static. It's not 100% static but so much is static that its irrelevant to distinguish.

In OOTP 20 I only completed 1 season in the base game then I switched to Perfect Team because I needed something fresh. This year while being mostly the same 21 has felt fresh to me at least. I'm sure it will wear off soon though. So Perfect Team is always an option.

Some players because of the stale nature of things are led down the path of fictional universes. So everything feels new and fresh. New team locations and finances and players.

Me personally I can't get into fictional yet but it is an option.

The hardest teams with the MLB default are probably Miami, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Kansas City and Detroit. Because they all are small markets with no money. Bottom 5 financial teams basically. Then you just have to pick whichever has the worst MLB players and the worst minor league system. Pitt is probably the best out of the 5 listed.

I'm new to this game and I really enjoy "playing" the games one at a time. I am GM/manager of the 2020 Mets.
There are a few "bugs" in the game play.
Such as.....twice my LF went through the LF wall. It was an obvious double but the hitter got to 3rd., the ball rolled to the second baseman.
Seems like there are a LOT of doubles.
The opposition had a runner at 1st, the batter hit it back to the pitcher. Then the pitcher tossed it to the SS. Problem was the SS was 3 feet from the P and 2nd. base was covered.

This sim is worth every penny. Hope the do a football game. HUGE Bills fan here.
Take care...Bob

My current record is 38-37.
I like seeing trade offers and checking out the minors and FA's.
