Roy Campanella or Ivan Rodriguez?

What are the latest thoughts on the choice between these two?

What level are you playing at Diamond, Gold, etc? Also, who is your catcher right now?

The Yogi Berra from the Live missions still hold up well (at least against righties) at the Diamond level and I have both him and FOTF Campenella. I would have said Campenella over Rodriguez a month ago, but I'd save your money at this point and look towards another position to upgrade if you have points to spend. Just not worth it from what I have seen for a catcher as long the one you have is an above average defensive catcher with decent offense.

If you are playing at Gold or below, then you should get a decent return on your points investment until you hit Diamond. I say this because the Diamond leagues are filling up with more each week it seems with pitching staffs filled with FOTF Spahn, Pedro, Walter Johnson.

Sorry, should've left my signatures up in my OP. It's my Packers that are in your league.

I've had Campanella for a while, but now I've got I-Rod in the mix too. I'm just curious for some opinions because the difference between them is fairly subtle. Campanella seemed to be more popular a while back, but their L7's are the same now, which suggests maybe a trend towards Pudge?

I have been using Pudge to fairly decent success in Diamond. I think what Tim said might be why the prices are getting closer together. There is not a big difference, and as long as you have one of them it is fine, so people started buying Pudge because he was the cheaper one which made Campanella fall in price.

Yeah, if I had a do over I would go with Pudge and probably just go ahead and get the boost in defensive catcher that he brings if I was choosing between the two now. The offense is a wash at this point between the two. Like I said before, Campenella use to have better stats a little over a month ago but in our current league there are at least 22 FOTF cards of the like of Spahn, Pedro and Walter Johnson combined. Your Campenella has had a bit better luck than mine. However, you may just want to pick up SE Yogi on the cheap, sell the Campenella and upgrade somewhere else. I'm thinking about doing the same next week.

Lol, it would also help had I paid more attention to detail with your earlier message. Since you already have Pudge, I would think about selling Campenella so you can use those points elsewhere. I'm going to probably sell my Campenella and just go back to platooning my old gold Manny Sanguillen card against lefties like I use to with decent results.

Sentimentally, I prefer Pudge, so I think I'll give him a spin next week. Not gonna rush to sell Roy though, this is my packs team, so I can't just raid the AH .

I sold Yogi a while back. I figure that he gives up a lot of fielder's choice/double plays, with a low BABIP and doesn't run well. Peak Mickey Cochrane is a bit of an on base machine and his defense seems to play up. So he's my catcher vs righties.
