Suspended Season Question

I think I know how to correctly suspend a season in a league. I set the schedule to 0 games and I disable the playoffs. I can even click a box that prevents the ai from making any roster changes. Yet, once the suspended season is over a champion is still crowned. In this case it is the first team listed alphabetically in my league. They also receive credit for winning a title on the team index page even though no season or playoffs ever took place. I shared two screenshots. One is my league in question with the suspended seasons. The other is from a MLB quickstart. Notice 1904 does not list a champion and that season still took place. Just no World Series. So my question is how do I stop the game from awarding a champion when I have suspended the season. Thanks again for reading.
