Trouble with expansion team MiLB
So, I started an expansion team, and simulated an expansion draft to fill my team after a couple top picks.
But I'm discovering that my MiLB teams have no players! My entire AAA roster consists of like 7 position players? How are they even competing? What's up with this? |

How many rounds was your expansion draft? Did you sign any players during free agency to fill up your minor leagues? Expansion draft does not fill out your entire organization, you will need to sign free agents (or create fictional players) to fill them out.

The draft was for whatever the defaults amount was. I just assumed it would draft until it filled my organization, when I told to auto-draft after the 10th round or so. It doesn't? That's frustrating. Is there any way I don't individually sign an entire organization worth of players and fill out linueps, ect.? |

This is directly from the manual:
Expansion drafts generally run for 35 rounds. Expansion teams must populate the remainder of their rosters by trades or through free agency. http://manuals.ootpdevelopments.com/...ague_expansion When you did finish draft, all it does is finishes the remaining rounds, it does not just draft until you have filled up your roster. To fill up your minor league teams without having to sign players, you can go into Commissioner Mode and then go to the Players page of each minor league level and there is a button in the top right that says "Fill team with fictional players". It will generate players to fill out the roster, but you will still want to sign some on your own to cover injuries. Another option that will help keep them full is to allow minor league managers to sign/release players in the Manager Settings screen. |

So, it will generate a MiLB roster for me? Can I just have it sign free agents, by chance? They would suck, but it'd be more realistic. I've been combing through that manual all morning

Thanks for bringing this issue up; I'm taking notes for where people get stuck and the manual doesn't offer clear answers.

If you turn on the option to allow the minor league managers to sign/release guys, they will end up signing guys as needed, but it is best to check each level every couple weeks to make sure they are not running low, especially before the June draft. We have been working on getting Markus and Matt to make the expansion model more realistic and after 5 or 6+ years of harping, they did improve the wizard this year to allow more control over the minor league levels/teams (a HUGE improvement).....we will keep on them , but they are very good at taking suggestions and implementing them when they feel it will benefit the overall game experience.

EDIT: Fixed. Required reloading and adjusting numbers. Chart is sort of back to normal. Last edited by DHangelfan; 05-02-2020 at 07:43 PM. |
