Computer immediately waiving players they trade for
I'm in the 2nd year of my fictional baseball world. At the trade deadline the computer teams are trading for veteran help and then immediately waiving the player/s they just traded for. It's a huge flaw when a team gives up a top prospect in return for a veteran they instantly waive who then gets claimed by another team.

are you default fiction universe or a complete custom one? is challenge mode active? what are your trade settings?
As soon as you move away from a lot of default setups there are tons and tons of settings. I missed setting or 1 error and it can gimp your universe. Only reason to waive someone is if they don't want them to be on their 40 man. which leads to why did they trade for them. could be low trade difficulty or some kind of weird financial settings. its hard to say if its a fully custom universe |

It's a fictional 18 team league with real players. 40 man rosters/27 active, finances are default settings based on market size and owner deciding over budget. Trade frequency is average.

This isn't necessarily unheard of. Teams will trade for players with the hopes that they can sneak them through the waiver wire and stash them in AAA. Obviously they wouldn't be giving up significant value in these trades, and they must be players that have a realistic chance of making it through waivers (either because they are not worth a 40 man slot or they make too much money).
