Brooklyn Robins - 1930

I'm new to OOTP and am loving it so far. I picked a random year and a random team to start my career. I simulated the spring training games, but I plan on playing all the real season games. One interesting thing from the pre-season, is, out of the blue, the Cubs offered me Rogers Hornsby in a trade. Hornsby was coming off his 1929 MVP season, but I chose to base ratings off of future seasons (it seemed the most accurate way to simulate actual stats if I'm understanding things?), so his star ratings aren't as high as you'd expect the defending MVP to have because he got hurt for most of 1930 and wasn't quite the same player after that. So, I offered them a bit less and completed the deal, which means Hornsby has now played for 5 teams in 5 seasons:

1926 - Cardinals
1927 - Giants
1928 - Braves
1929 - Cubs
1930 - Robins

Four teams in four years is an unusual arc for any player from that era, let alone a Hall of Famer. Add in the fictional fifth team and that's really bonkers.

The first series was a 3-game sweep of the Phillies, winning 10-0, 13-7, and 8-5. 1930 was the year of the hitter and so far, that's true to form. Dazzy Vance had a shutout on Opening Day and CF Johnny Frederick is batting .571 with 3 home runs.

I'll try and post future updates if anyone is interested.

One thing I did - I didn't realize that some major league teams had minor league affiliates at this time, but others did not. The Robins weren't aligned with any minor league teams, so I grabbed one of the International League teams and made them my affiliate. If I hadn't done that, where do your prospects and minor league level players play and develop?

In reality, Hornsby got moved around a lot despite his talent in real life too, mainly, it seems, because he was a pretty awful teammate and nobody wanted to play alongside him.
