Scouting Issues

I converted a 2020 save that I've played for over 40 seasons. About 2/3 of my players have had a substantial drop in both their potential ratings and in their play on the field. Many of my high priced players are no longer worth the price, and it's not one or 2 but, as I say, 2/3 of them. Is this just incredibly bad luck or does it have something to do with the new scouting?

Have you opened the league up in 20 and gone into commissioner mode and done a comparison?

I haven't imported a save yet but now I'm curious.

It's challenge mode.

Challenge mode is the worst especially between versions I would never want a long running universe in challenge mode

Thanks for that. Knowing what it is I'll just do a minor rebuild. Still have a pretty good core and should be able to offload some of the higher priced talent. We'll chalk it up to the players staying at home and getting out of shape.

I had the opposite happen when I imported from 19 to 20 where all of a sudden all of my hitters would have put the entire Hall of Fame to shame as they had all become 5 star potential and their actual ratings all became 4 stars +, and some players gained 40+ points (100 scale) in all hitting categories. My pitchers ratings got unchanged, so that save became unplayable in 20. I had to start over. I could never fix it.

I did blame it on scouting too since I couldn't figure it out either. Reason I blamed it on scouting is because that save was a fictional universe, and I had also imported a historical (no scouting) and that one was totally fine and no ratings change occurred. I went through all the modifiers for my fictional and everything was legit. It was easier for me to just give up than bang my head in the wall trying to figure it out, I was not 40 years deep like you though.
