Are your game files in a custom folder? I had to reset my folder location and then re-launch the game. Then it all worked okay.

When you open the game, click on Settings on the bottom to the left. Then click "Expert" and see if your game files are in a custom path. Chances are, if you didn't know the setting is there, it is probably not the case.

it's just pointing to the wrong place.. you have several options available to you.

you could just uninstalle / reinstall, but remember to type in your path to your saved game folder.

in the game, you can traverse directories to find it, and it should rememberm if not there's also a settings page when you first load the game (not a league, but there too). it's one of the few tabs you'll see, i don't recall verbatim what it is called -- custom? advanced? troubleshooting? it's the second to last, if i recall from 1 years since i've seen it at this point.

There's also a "custom_folders.ini" settings file in teh game's root... this can be altered with a notepad-like program... any text editor will do as long as you save as existing format and not something like a word document.

Now, it is possible you have 2 different intallation foldters.. .you'd want to look into that. you can do that teh same way you search for your league, if you are unsure of where it is.

simply open up file explorer and type in a seeach term -- your league's name -- the one you saved it as, not neccesssarily the name of your baseball league within that saved game..

add a ".lg" if you want, that will certainly make it a unique return.

copy the address as text -- use one of the above options to fix your problem. paste it in there, re-load and you are good.

search for ootp21 or whatever the default name is... hopefully you only have 2 data folders. otherwise, i'd uninstall everything, except don't delete your league, of couse. then, re-install and make sure correct data folder path is selected -- or move your ".lg" folder to the default, that way you can just install future patches without having to remember your custome saved folder path.

Come on dude. Didn't you read where it says you have to have a master's degree in computer science to play this game? This isn't a game for baseball fans, it's a game for people who sit at computers 18 hours a day and don't mind spending 4.5 hours working on a solution to a problem OOTP created. Just give OOTP your money, then fix their game for them. That's how this works. Sorry if you're just some baseball fan who enjoys computer baseball sims and just expects them to work merely because the game has been around 20+ years and should have these things figured out by now.

The save isn't lost and it's easily fixable.

The game settings just got reset somehow.

Just go to 'settings' and to 'expert' and set the custom directory to point back to where your saved game folder is and you'll be good.

For most Windows users, this will be Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 21

If it's not there, worst case just search for the OOTP Baseball 21 directory where you see the saved_games folder that has the save you want on your system and then copy that path when you find it and paste it into the custom directory.

The nofacegen message is likely related to a video driver issue. The first step there would be to update your video card drivers and try again.

And when you say "the new saved game is gone also", what exactly do you mean? That new save you started after the patch you can't find? If so, that's not unexpected because you just switched back to your old saved games directory. OOTP can only look in one directory at a time.

You'd need to search for the new save, then copy it to the directory where the old save is, that you added into the game when you went to 'settings' and to 'expert' and set the custom directory. Then OOTP will find both saves, since they'll be in the same place.

Ok so that makes sense with the new game and directory. Below is the league. Beta1.lg . When I started a new game the Facegen worked perfectly so I don't think it has anything to do with my drive?

For the custom data path, you put your full saved game path in there. You don't want to do that (Plus it's pointing to OOTP20 for some reason, not 21).

Just put the directory like this (add in the full path though, including the drive for your system): Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 21

Just put the directory like this (add in the full path though, including the drive for your system), if your save is in 'my documents': Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 21

or if it's in the Steam folder like you're pointing to in your screenshot, then it would be like this (again though, add in the full path, including the drive for your system):

Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Out of the Park Baseball 21\data
Ok I used the program files one, and the new game that i started after this came back. THe Beta1 game isn't there. Should I try to restore it?
Thanks again for your help

Now, after you do that, does the game find your save?
