Anyway to start a season live but keep player ratings from the beginning of the season? It’s quite annoying how much the live ratings devalue players real value. Christian Yelich and Francisco Lindor have bad abbreviated seasons and they become 3.5 star current and potential players?!

It’s also annoying how every player signs extensions if you play just the regular abbreviated season. IE every big name free agent in the 2021 class has signed an extension, ruining the excitement of free agency for me. Anyway to adjust this?

I have tried, to no avail or even response, to make this same point about Live Ratings basically turning the game into a replay league- Salvador Perez hits .330 in 150 at-bats and he goes from a sub-.250 hitter to a .300+ hitter, d’Arnaud hits .321 and goes from .271 editor rating to .315, opposite for Altuve and others with down half-seasons. What is maddening is that if you look at the Perfect Team card database, the impact of the current season on Live Cards is actually what you might expect of updated ratings for veteran players. For example, Yelich and Linder both began with 100-rated Live cards and now are lower- to 96, which is a lot more like what they will be projected to be next year than what they are in the Live Start world.

I would add that the promotional material for OOTP21 STILL touts the ability to begin Live Start at any time including “through the whole postseason”, when in fact the latest you can begin is before the last games of the season on September 27. Was an explanation for this undelivered promise ever even offered? Even getting the transactions to work took til almost the last week of the season.
