Illegal Operation

I just finished playing a game this morning, when the computer was generating the box score, I got the dreaded illegal operation message. The box score never did pop up. I closed down OOTP and restarted my computer assuming I'd just have to play the game again.

However my game was completed when looking at the schedule screen. Still no box score available. I finished simulating the day, but to my surprise I was never credited with the win or any of the stats.

I am looking for any suggestions as to what I should do. I was thinking that maybe I should just reschedule that game during an off day and not worry about it, but it was a very dominating 12-1 win with two homers from Bonds.

this happpens to me all the time..... except it only seems to be associated with the box score window. So normally I just click cancel when It asks if I want to report the error to microsoft "what are they gonna do?"... and it pulls up the second time.

Have you tried changing the "default" browser that the game uses?

What should I do about the game I just played, should I just reschedule and forget that one ever happened?

I haven't done anything about it. I do know that when it happened the second time I manually simmed all of the other games during that day, but the weird thing was when I clicked on the boxscore for my game, another game's boxscore came up, and mine was totally gone. No credit was given to the winning pitcher, no stats, etc... I am not even sure if the results were recorded. So, I guess I will wait until the last month of the season to see if I have "lost" any games during the season due to this problem.

What can be done about it?

In fact I just checked my schedule. It says that I have played 26 games into my season. The record in my standings have me playing 24 games. As I said, this error has happened to me twice. The question is what do I do about the 2 games that are "gone." Do I make them up manually? Did other teams get credited with the wins and losses besides mine? What do I do?

I'm thinking nothing happened. I'm just going to reschedule my game during an off day later in the season. That game was my 21st of the season, but it shows I've only played 20games. My minor league teams have played 20 also, so nothing happened there either.

Well it happened again to me last night. How and what did you change your browser to. I changed it under the setup screen to an external browser and that didn't work, reports didn't come up right.

Any other suggestions?

My previous browser was the OOTP browser that opened up for each report. I went into Game Setup and changed my browser to "External System Browser." This browser is my Windows Browser. So far, it has not happened to me again. I don't know what else could be done. Maybe Steve or someone else has suggestions. Good luck.
