New to OOTP

I bought OOTP 19 last year and didn't fire it up once until a couple days ago. I was thinking about buying OOTP 21.

I saw on the trailer that it allows drafts. Is this draft like a yahoo fantasy draft? And does OOTP 21 have all the players that played in 2019 and the minor league players as well?

I'm only interested in playing this from as a single player (not online with others).

I couldn't find a good go to place to find the answers to a lot of the questions I have about this game. The videos on youtube weren't much help.

Thanks

Joe

You can do a fantasy draft with all players. As for the rosters they are very accurate and also will include players in the June draft assuming there is one.

If you bought 19 last year, and then didn't play it, then perhaps you should wait to buy 21 until it comes down in price later in 2020. I usually don't offer such advice out of concern for OOTPD, but you don't sound like an eager fan . . . yet.

I think you may get there when you see the improvements from 19 to 21 by viewing the videos and observing in the forums. Then the game may grab hold of you to the extent that you will become immersed in it and truly a fan of the game.

I'm a huge fan of baseball. Just haven't had a lot of free time lately and don't expect a lot in the near future. I've watched a few videos on the game and haven't seen anything real exciting although I have noticed a huge fan following, which has kept me hanging around.

I used to play the old Electronic Arts - Earl Weaver baseball games back in the early days of computing. I probably put in 40 hours a week on those darn games.

Thanks for your reply by the way Deja Bru. Good luck this season.

Same to you. It sounds like, from that reference to EA-EW, you may be in the same age bracket as me. If so, you can look forward to really getting into OOTPB someday soon when you are retired. Then you can spend up to 112 hours a week on these darn games! (Deducting 56 hours for sleep - eight hours a night - which apparently is an unfortunate necessity. What a waste of time sleep is! ()
