Gonna do a 36 team mlb expanded league, need some suggestions
Hi,
I will be making a 36 team mlb expanded league, and would like some suggestions. My expansion will have a focus on international markets; with 3 more teams from Canada, and either 2 more teams from the US and 1 from Cuba or Mexico, or a team from Mexico and a team from Cuba and a team from the US. I would like to stay as close to realism as possible* For the 2 out of the 3 Canadian teams, I plan to go with Montreal, Vancouver, & hope for a suggestion on the third team. For the scenario with 2 teams from the US; I’m thinking either a team from Richmond or Vergina Beach, and a team from either Raleigh, Louisville, or Honolulu. For the international team from this scenario either Havana in Cuba or Monterey in Mexico For the scenario with a team from US, Cuba, and Mexico then it would be one from each of those above places* I would like some feedback about these chosen places, some suggestions about others, and your thoughts on aspects of realism to abide by. Furthermore could you please give me some thoughts about new playoff alignments and wether I should expand all at once or over a 3 to 6 year period expanding by 2 teams every year or second year. Thank you, |

For Charlotte, have you considered moving Philly to the Central to join the other Pennsylvania squad? Then at least it's more regionally based better. |

If you plan on running this over the long haul (20-25 seasons) I would say bring 2 teams every 2 years. ItÂ’s just a little more organic and had less of a shock to the league as a whole. ThatÂ’s how I did it last year and it work out really well.
If youÂ’re looking for another Canadian city, IÂ’d say Ottawa and Winnipeg would be appropriate. TheyÂ’re both pretty good sports cities. I added a team from Mexico City. There is a huge appetite for baseball there. So rather than having another Texas team, I went that route. Some really good potential rivalries with the Rangers and Astros. |
