historical league

Hi

I can't find my old post on here about my problems with the historical league and I posted last week. Any idea where it went? I still can't figure out what's wrong with my OOTP5. It's killing me. I want to play this game so badly starting from the early 1900's. If you remember my other post or see it please respond with some suggestions. Thanks

I found your old post (http://www.400softwarestudios.com/bo...threadid=29519), and would like to make one suggestion.

Just for the heck of it - try importing real players, and draft them instead of assigng them to the original teams. See if that works. Probably won't help - but it's just a suggestion.

Thanks, DBacks. I tried your suggestion already and that didn't work either, unfortunately. I found that if I import fake players then it works just fine, but that's not really what I'm shooting for. If anyone has anymore suggestions please tell me. Thanks

Reinstall everything? Pain in the butt, I know (I've done it enough times to last me a lifetime -- ever since my OOTP3 days). Redownload the database - and reinstall the game. Might as well start a new league, too. See if that works.

I redownloaded the database, but didn't reinstall the game. Just doing that didn't work. I'm afraid to reinstall the game due to the elicensing, but I may give it a shot. You get how many opportunities to reinstall? 2?

Also, I read something where it said to download the lahman database into Stats folder, but that it doesn't matter where it's downloaded into. I downloaded it into the main OOTP5 folder. Do you think this caused a problem? If I just move the files into the stats folder will that work just as well as actually downloading into it? Anyone have any insight to give up? Thanks

Ok, if you will download the v5 "comma-delimited" database, unzip it into a folder of your choosing and follow the guidelines here

it will work. There are many people using this exact method and it won't be any different with you.

Is there a website that gives a list of players that get into the big leagues year by year? What I could do is start a historical league and just put in fake players every year since that works, rename and fix players up to who I want them to be; or just import the the ones I want in one by one?
