Greetings, and a problem...

Hi. This is my first post at this board. This is also my first year purchasing OOTP. For the past two years I played Baseball Mogul, but OOTP blows that game out of the water.

Anyway, here's my problem. For the past month, I've been using GeForce's rosters to play my season. Yesterday, I opened OOTP and got a "invalid player file" message. After this, I went to "Start Standard League" and tried to open the rstr.lg from there. However, I got a runtime error. Finally, I tried generating another league with the rstr.lg file, and I got another runtime error, and OOTP closed. I'm running this on Windows XP.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Glad you are enjoying the game, could you clarify part of what you are saying to me?

The following...I went to "Start Standard League" and tried to open the rstr.lg from there. Did you create a new league at this point? Also, have you deleted any leagues and or files?

Sorry about that. Yes, I did try to start a new league (I named the league 'rstr'), and I got a runtime error. I then tried generating a league using non-real players, and that league loaded perfectly. Also, I have deleted a league, but it wasn't a league using GeForce's rosters.

It seems to me like my rstr.lg file is corrupted, or something like that.

Problem probably is that if you deleted the active league (the one you were in when you closed the game the last time).

Also, make sure that you did not delete the "career2003.lg".

So if I did accidentally delete the "career.lg" file, how can I right the wrong? Should I unistall, then re-install OOTP?

Awww, I did that too (deleting career2003.lg) and OOTP5 would not start even after I recopied the league into the install directory. The only way I was able to have the game working was to reinstall it.

Why is this league required?

Just rename another league folder Career2003.lg

Copy it into a seperate folder, rename it and copy it back into the ootp5 folder.
