Developing stars.....

Has anyone developed a 5 STAR PROSPECT, into a 5 STAR VET? All of my cant miss prospects (5 star) turn into 2 or 3 star vets when they lose their prospect status.

I've had one guy develop into a 5-star. At first, when he went to gold instead of blue stars, he was 3 stars. Over time, though, his ratings continued to go up and he made it to a 5 star starting pitcher. He was great!

good call, Gastric... I was going to say the same thing. I would imagine that no player would be a 5 blue star into a 5 gold star.

You would take the time to develop into the 5 gold stars..

I've had a 5 blue star SP become a 5 gold star SP in my fictional league. Of course he was a freak of nature, with better ratings than most vets at age 23. The next highest was a 5 blue star to 4.5 gold star 2B at age 26.

Normal pattern for a 5* blue for me, is 2-3* gold and then if you're lucky, gradual development up.

Ive only had a MR go from 5 blue star to 5 gold star and even then it took a full season in the bigs before he became a 5 gold star.

I've had 2 5 star prospects turn into 5 star vets in the same team, on the same month, one my closer and another a RF. One was developed by my minors, and the other I got in a very big trade. What a rush! I gave my big RF a nickname -- "Crusher" -- , and he lost a half a star for about a month. I guess fooling around with the player's "brand name" affected how the crowds of fans react to him.
