Backing up with Almanac on
I like the almanac ... I refer to it a lot and run it for everything but history. Is there any tips/tricks to preserving the almanac but not having it included in the back-up process? In other words, speeding up the back up process? With 5 seasons of almanacs, my backup process takes well over 15 minutes to complete.
Thanks, Scott |

One possibility would be to move the almanac to another folder/drive. That way you still have them and they will work standalone fashion but they will no longer be included in the save game file. I have been doing this to save space on my smallish SSD where the game is loaded.

you could make a little script to speed up that process.
@echo off copy <from> <to> del <from location> exit etc... i'm sure there's a / flag you can add to 'copy' that auto-overwrites detination, if similar files. after you update the almanac, double click that '.bat' file and it will move and delete. Switch back to ootp screen and click backup without the almanac there anymore. you may want to go to your league's backup folder and delete the old almanac backup files. no need for the redundancy of outdated files. |
