Challenge Leagues
I have been dabbling in Challenge Leagues and have a question for others who play that mode:
Does you owner EVER give you money for FAs? I may get 4-8Million every so often, but never, ever enough to go after a good FA. After several leagues where I went completely blind pot luck with owners, I waited to choose a team and picked a huge market city with a owner who was rated generous and after 4 years, I still do not get any money to play with. Meanwhile, it seems even the teams in small markets are able to make bids on good players. What the heck? Last edited by Tazilon; 04-26-2019 at 10:08 PM. |

I actually like to take on financially troubled teams and see how quickly I can make them popular and profitable. I've had $40-$50M for free agents some years.

That all depends on your payroll and budget. With the Marlins, I've got a $100 million budget, but nearly $62 million is tied up in payroll. If I want to make a splash in free agency, I've got to find someone trying to jump start their career. Got Billy Hamilton on a minor league deal.

I can't really say what is going on. Previously, I played non-challenge fantasy leagues and have never had those issues. Some years you have more, some less, but never consistently so little you can never extend your good players. And never enough to bid on a good player. Very frustrating.
