Playoff roster rules

Just got to the playoffs for the first time in OOTP 20...and something's off (unless there was a rule change this off-season and I missed it). All players on my 40-man roster were eligible for the playoff roster, regardless of what their statuses were as of August 31st. Additionally, unlike previous years, I had to manual add all 26 (yes, I use a 26-man roster) players manually to the roster. How it had been in previous versions was, essentially, the AI made their "best guess" and I could tweak it from there. I found that odd. And before anyone asks, I never have the AI control anything, so that isn't related to any setting on that front. Also, post-season roster rules are enabled in the rules settings.

it's in the settings.. league settings - options? nearby, if not. have the choice of entire 40-man or anyone prior to deadline etc.

if challenge mode, i have no idea what default is.... probably can't change it for challenge mode, though.

do you have "prevent ai roster moves" checked in team settings? that prevents everything.

With all due respect, I answered all of this in my original post. Except, no, I am not in Challenge Mode.

There is a setting that says use 40 man or pre Sept 1st for playoffs as NoOne referred to. I am 99.9% positive in your league you have all players on 40 man are eligible, you mention you have post season roster rules, but do not mention which one you have selected.

Well...I'll take back that piece of my response, because I did not know there was distinction (this must be new? Which was kind of the reason behind my post...either it was a bug or something changed.)

However, what's with having to add my players to the playoff roster manually? On top of that, I have to add one by one (again, before anyone asks, yes, I select multiple players, right-click and move to playoff roster, but then I get the error message saying it can't be done with so and so players [which is all of them]. I get around this by adding them one-by-one.

No, it is not new. The two different options have been available for several versions now.

I am not sure what the default setting is however.

So I restarted my file and changed it to 26-man roster...am I correct to assume this will utilize real life rules? (Players must be active or on 15-day DL as of 8/31, barring injuries.)

You do know real life rules allow you to add anyone from the 40 man roster to the postseason roster, right?
