Pitch Repertoire
How does OOTP determine specific pitch ratings? There are two questions here.... #1 which pitches a pitcher throws and #2 how they are given ratings?
I was looking at Corey Knebel on OOTP 19 from his 2018 season and he's got the following ratings (20-80 scale): Fastball - 55 Curveball - 55 Changeup - 80 I thought to myself, I don't think Knebel throws a changeup. So I went to PitchFx (Statcast) and found this: In Knebel's entire career, here are his pitch counts: Fastball - 2937 Curveball - 1222 Changeup - 7 So that lead me to question a) why OOTP is showing Knebel throwing a changeup at all b) why OOTP rated his changeup as an 80 and c) does it really matter |

You need 3 solid pitches to start in ootp.
And in real life fastball can be separated out 2 seam, 4 seam, etc. Same thing with curves they can be different styles. |
