Starting Pitchers
I know it’s still early and most of the really good historical cards are not out yet, but it looks to me that, looking at the ratings, live diamond SP match-up a lot better against historical diamonds.
In 19 it was a no brainer to have a historical SP, but so far it looks like live pitchers can have a role even at higher levels. Last edited by moalkha; 03-23-2019 at 11:45 AM. |

My thought in general is live diamonds are better this year and might keep the prices of historics down.

It isn't necessarily just Live Diamonds that are better. I've noticed that a lot of my Live Rangers have much higher ratings than they did last year. Gallo a gold? Odor a silver? Minor is now a bronze?
The question is whether or not this is a deliberate attempt by the devs to improve Live cards overall or if this is merely a function of 19 starting at the end of the season (and the full slate stats this provides) and 20 starting from the beginning projections which could be painting rosier pictures for all.

I didn't play 19 and thought my 5 starters were going to get hammered Outside of of a historical Dennis Martinez (4.13 ERA) my 4 lefties Matlack 72 rookie, Leiter Historical 2000, Abbott Unsung 1991 & 1943 rookie sensation Harry Becheen are all pitching to a decent era. I had Walker Buehler in the rotation early but he was getting lit up. I moved Abbott in who has better movement and control but lacking in stuff and he has put up a 3.01 ERA in 22 starts.
I'm going to win my division in silver and move up and I am curious if that rotation can hold up to stiffer competition. Seems to me to be a no brainer that a 100 Randy Johnson should out pitch my Jim Abbott over the course of the season but the Johnson's in my league aren't Going to have a hard time making up my mind as to how to move forward. |

This is my first year playing PT as well.
Quick question: The original poster mentioned that most of the historical cards are not out yet; when will they be moving into the pool? And do we have any read on the pace? |

No idea what he meant as there a ton of them out. They will be releasing about 6 new cards a week over the year and not all pitchers but the PT universe is chock full of them now.
