Looking for league totals by decade..

I'm looking for some reference or website that list league totals by year or better yet by decade.

I looked on baseballreference.com, but if its there, I can't find it.

On another note. I've been thinking of buying Total Baseball, ya know the baseball encyclopedia. I had the 87' edition but have long since lost it. Does anybody know any other good baseball books?

The internet is great for stats but nothing beats the flesh and blood of a baseball reference book. I have also recently purchased The Baseball Almanac by Dan Schlossberg and the Complete Baseball Record Book 2002 Edition and I subscribe to Baseball Digest, an excellent source for the historical simmer.
