What happens to IFA's when their contract runs out?
I signed 2 pitchers in the in the November round of IFA's. They both bombed and had a few years left in their contract so I buried them in the minors because I couldn't trade them and wasn't sure what would happen if I released them with outstanding years.
The contract ran out this fall and I assumed they were gone. But I just noticed they are still buried in the minors being paid big bucks. I don't recall them being on the arbitration screen nor any other notification before their contract was renewed. Did I miss something? |

Sometimes a contract like that can run out and you still hold the rights to the player. My guess is that you missed an Arbitration situation, but you should be able to tell from the player's Profile, Contract or History screens.

Were they on ML contracts before going to the minors? If so, then automatic renewal is likely what's going on.
