Playoff Heartbreak...

... allow me to grovel a little here.

In Orcin's Diamond 385 Cap League - I had two playoff teams in the NC, and they met in the sub series final. It was a great battle, with the Gold Gryphons beating the Red Gryphons in game 7 to advance to the World Series. It also means these two teams are separated for next year with Gold getting promoted.

In Perfect 413, my Gryphon Blue team was a fairly hefty underdog, but slayed a couple giants in making it to the World Series. Got off to a great start, winning games 1 and 2, before losing 3, 4, and 5. Got the much needed game 6 win, and were poised to potentially win our second Perfect League Championship. It wasn't meant to be... and finally in game 7 a home team finally won a game in this series, and the P413 Championship. Congrats to the Yakety Yaks.

So back to Diamond now. The cool thing was, the Blue and Red Gryphon teams have both sipped WS champagne, and the Gold team was the only one to not have won a championship. And what a start... got up 3-0 on the Bedford Blue Lobsters. Everything was looking ace. I was going to be able to say I had a WS ring with each team.

... and cue the heartbreak. I had 4 games to put away the Lobsters, and couldn't do it. Full credit... his stars were stars, and my only remaining shot at a title went for a complete reverse sweep by the Lobsters. Crushing.

OK ... time to plan for the 2030 season with two Perfect teams and the Reds getting another crack at Diamond.

Fun year. Thanks to all the teams in 2029 and see yas on the diamond again next year. Errrr... tomorrow! No time for heartbreak now, gotta get to work.

Definitely a heartbreaking story. I have suffered the reverse sweep and it took me down :}
