Question About Defensive Replacements

Is there a way to have the server AI, say, move your starting shortstop over to second when the defensive replacement at short comes in? I cannot list it that way on the lineup screen because it will not accept starters as defensive replacements. Thanks for any help.

I've been wondering about this as well.

Nope, and it's a huge flaw in the depth chart setup.

Mookie is a good example of where this would help. I don't want him as my everyday 2B, even though he gets a good rating there, but when my starting 2B is tired, Mookie is better than my backup there. I'd rather he play 2B and my backup OF jump into Mookie's spot.

Also, my backup CF (Andruw Jones) is a better defensive CF than Mike Trout, so when my LF or RF needs a day off, I'd rather Jones push Trout to their spots instead. Instead I get suboptimal outfield defense.

Using 7 Day Lineups I think would support that. Although you would be guesstimating when the players would be tired.

On the lineups page, in the upper right there is a checkbox for 'Auto-Sync Lineups & Depth Charts'. Unchecking that will allow you to put starters as utility and defensive replacements. I am not sure if that will cause the AI manager to actually move players around as you want though.

EDIT: Ignore that. While I'm pretty sure this used to work in the base game at least, its not currently working for me in PT.
