Could We Have A Non-Monetized Version of PT?
The answer, I suspect, is "no", but here is my plea.
I played the PT Beta and thought that it was an interesting variation on regular OOTP, one that emphasized roster-building skills without complications like contracts, injuries, player development, etc. I haven't, however, played since the Beta ended, because I'm not going to (meaning the my better half won't let me) spend large sums of money on an on-line game, and it's evident that players who don't buy thousands of PP's are doomed to languish in the lower ranks of the rookie leagues. I'd gladly pay a small entry fee for a league that didn't include purchases of PP's. I suspect that I'm not the only one. |

They have said no many times already.
I have no problem if I linger in the lower levels. They are still fun. |

What do you think?
Don't spend money, try to upgrade your team, try to win. If not, I have this really good feeling, that it won't kill you. Geez. |

Your request is understandable, but one thing that has become abundantly clear is that for as many teams that just buy their way to an incredible roster, many are also formulated from either dedicated auction house work or pulling a valuable card and flipping it for the means to buy a bunch of packs that result in multiple upgrades across the board.

Here is my plea:
Check the boards before you post a new topic. This has been discussed ad naseum. |

As I said in my original post, I didn't think that this was a likely possibility. Other people obviously enjoy the current setup, and there's nothing illegal, immoral or fattening about their preference. I hope that PT earns lots of money for OOTP and expect that some of the profits will be plowed back into the regular version.
It would be interesting to try to build a championship team without spending money. I even have ideas about how it could be done. But I don't have the time needed to implement those ideas, most of which would require close attention to the auction house and, once the new real-life season begins, to how players with "LIVE" cards perform. |
