Contract problem

Hi!

In my game I'm june 23rd and I offered a contrat to couple of prospects and on negociating screen it said that the first year of the deal suppose to be 2020-2021 but when the players finally signed, the first year is 2019-2020... So I lost a year of entry-level for only 7 days in game...

Is it a bug or I just have to wait until july 1st every time?

Was this in the NHL? And how old were the prospects you signed? If they were 18-19-year-old NHL prospects, the contract start should've slid to the next season, since they didn't play at all for you this year.
