Hi all -
I've been using OOTP since OOTP 5 (Just did the research and that came out 15 years ago, wow) and I had a few thoughts.
I started playing this game as a teenager and I'm still playing it as an adult.I used to love playing in sim leagues with strangers on the internet because I was a GM and the team was completely mine. I used to love playing in the High Heat Baseball sim leagues with the different downloadable tools to research players. Eventually I transitioned to OOTP and I've never looked back.
As I got older, I didn't really have time for the online leagues but still kept playing OOTP. The way I play is, I actually manage each individual game and AB. My personality doesn't allow me to simulate full weeks or months at a a time because I need to know what my guys are doing

I actually had played an 11 season Phillies dynasty a few years back that I imported from game to game but my computer crashed. Boy would I have loved to share some of those outcomes! Also, I've done the math on the estimated time I've spent playing OOTP for that 11 year franchise and I'm certainly not sharing that
I come to the forum occasionally to see what others are posting and what their franchise updates are and then I'll head over to the logos and graphics section to see what cool ideas you all have that you've put into production. It's a pretty incredible community of people, whether you're interacting on the day-to-day or observing from afar, I certainly appreciate all of the perspective shared. I often times will modify my game settings based on others posts. It's a great information sharing space.
Really just a post of gratitude. I've been playing this game for 15 years and have no intentions of stopping. Thanks to those involved in creating this game, those involved in creating this community, and for the countless 5 star prospects I sold the farm that didn't pan out
