Far superior team, lost LCS
Went to the NCCS in this final Beta league with 11 golds on my roster, 12 silvers and two bronze, having tied for the best regular season record in the entire league. Faced a team with three golds and 22 silvers. I clearly had the superior roster that had performed much better all year.
Got swept. I mean... Pretty much whipped. Lost two of the four games by five or more runs. My .741 winning percentage at home for the season obviously meant nothing in getting blitzed in my own park. I gotta say... This is pretty freakin' excellent! Given the real history of MLB's best regular season teams in playoff series (they fall short of the WS more than they get there), that's a great result. Things just didn't play out well for me in the NCCS, but the hot team just won – it didn't feel contrived or scripted. The AC went chalk, and hopefully there's a good WS. I love it. That's baseball as it should be, and more importantly, PT as it needs to be. All this worry about people just buying the best team... Nothing's automatic. Manage well, build with the right pieces, and anything can happen in a short series. That's real. Well. Done. Devs. |

yep. over a full season the cream will most likely rise to the top, but in a 5 or 7 game series lots of things can happen

Thought this was going to be a complaint at first haha. I too enjoy this. In my fictional league, in the first 10 years, the team that finished 1st in the regular season only went on to win the championship once.

I won the Championship in the first two leagues and had the best record in my AA league with my best team yet on paper. We got beat 3 games to 1 in the division series. In the words of Ron Washington, "That's the way baseball go."
