Trade improvement for CPU controlled rebuilding teams

I'd love to see more/improved trades from computer controlled rebuilding teams. Especially with players that will be free agents next year. For example, in almost every 2018 season simulation I've run, no matter how bad the Orioles are, Machado almost never gets traded. Same with the Giants and McCutchen and many others.

I think the problem might be that AI-run contenders don’t try to acquire these players.

Sorry, I never noticed you responded! That makes sense. But still, take this lopsided trade for example:
Even for a contending team, let alone the rebuilding 2018 White Sox it wouldn't make sense to get 2 yrs of Dyson for a great reliever and a 3-star potential starter.

Edit: Not sure how to add pictures, but the Sox got Jarrod Dyson for Soria, Giolito, and $360k
