We'll try to take a look at how this can be prevented while still keeping the player's stats and profile in the db.

The easiest way to prevent this would be having a "date of death" field, and removing dead players from the pool of potential coaches.

This is a stupid argument, and any human being with a tiny shred of empathy should be able to see that.

He's 36 in the screenshots, so that puts the game in year 2022, plus his age of "retirement" at 22 shows that this was not a historical game. Ergo, it's a future MLB sim, which makes this pretty bad. We all know this wasn't intentional on the part of OOTPD, but we also know it shouldn't be happening. Grow up.
