Injuries?

Are there injuries? I don’t think so, but could be cool to implement. Along with special healing cards that could be purchased

Nope. Injuries will never be part of PT. People already complain about them all the time in solo leagues, can you imagine how things would get out of hand in PT?

I actually thought of that when I posted this. While injuries would make for better management and would make more of your reserve cards valuable, I can see your point

Yeah, but you started him thinking about those "special healing cards that could be purchased." I can hear the mental wheels grinding all the way over on this side of the Atlantic! ()

How about injury leagues, and non injury leagues. I know with all the work that has gone into PT you could not offer in this edition, but maybe some time down the road.

There's already way more than enough complaining about luck IMO.

By simming every 30 minutes the computer may need to take over your team when an injury occurs or you will need a notification. Injuries would be hard to manage and your team would not be perfect.

Could you imagine buying a perfect player for 650,000,000 pp, and then he tears his rotator cuff in his first game and he's out for 14 months?

I'm fine with injuries normally but it seems like things would feel a bit different here. I'm glad it's staying as is.

Injuries in PT would be a nightmare for me (and many others). I'm more of a set-and-forget player; other than in the playoffs, I check PT once every night before I go to bed, which means about 30 days are simmed every day with no interaction from me. I then buy packs, make my changes, and wait until the next night to see how my team does in the next month.

Now imagine my right fielder and two of my starting pitchers go down with long-term injuries during the first week after I've logged off. Either we play with a 22-man roster for a few weeks until I log back on, or the AI pulls guys from my reserves without my input. Neither seems preferable.

I know injuries aren't ever being considered for PT, but I wanted to illustrate why.

I could see a scenario where a side tournament that allows injuries (and probably a larger roster and/or a unique reserve designation to help direct computer controlled injury replacements). No way it should ever be in the main game, but it could be another interesting side league for those who are interested in an experience with increased RNG effects.
