Retiring players?

At the end of this season, two players will retire from my team. Who are these guys? One has overall 30, the other 20... Both I found as inactive cards in my deck, but with an overall of 70 and 67. What's going on here? I thought players don't disappear over time.

i had that happen, too. The card is still yours. You just have to go back and activate it. But, it brings the question, do the players age?
