Lots of crashes to desktop
Just purchased today, started a historical league from the beginning. Just started simming, and quickly learned that it's necessary to sim in increments of no more than a week because it frequently crashes to desktop. Two crashes before I got to 1/1/1918, although at least those were one-time deals. Now my first game is stuck at 2/4/1918 because something's preventing it from doing anything other than crashing to desktop.
Not really interested in going through a whole process to try to recover this save - I'm not really invested in it. But I don't see myself sticking with this game for long if this is the level of CTD I can expect. The number of threads I'm seeing here with similar crashes also aren't exactly inspiring confidence. Sorry to be a wet blanket - the game seems good, but holy crap. I'm just a non-technical person running the game out of the box on Windows 10. It feels really problematic to have this many issues.

We'd need to see the save to figure out exactly what's going wrong with it. There isn't any event particularly unique to February 4; the only thing going on that day are a couple of NHL game, so it could be some odd roster issue with one of those, but without seeing it it's hard to say.
That many crashes at the start of a historical game isn't normal - I always run a full hundred-year test of historical prior to releasing a patch, and if it was crashing multiple times a year I'd notice pretty quickly. |
