Is it just me????
Or are there a TON of fictional catchers being created with BRILLIANT talent in hitting doubles?
I know this is kind of a random statement, but from what I can tell there seem to be an inordinant amount of fictional catchers with BRILLIANT double ratings. I don't have numbers to back that up right now but I know I've taken to editing the catchers in the amateur draft to lessen the amount. Over the past 3 seasons, about 75% of the fictional catchers in my league were rated BRILLIANT. Plus, there were a ton of them in the dispersal draft. Please try to take note and let me know if there's anything to this or if it was just an anomoly in my league. |

Never noticed this...but after reading this I checked...
In my 19 season of a fictional league (1999), It looks like just about half of the catchers have Brilliant in doubles. On further inspection, I noticed that they are all relatively young (18-28 mainly), and that the catchers w/o Brilliant talent in doubles are generally over 30...perhaps suggesting that nearly all start this way and suffer talent drops later... Interesting...

I noticed this during testing and thought that it had been corrected, atleast in the leagues I created. I'll mention it again, thanks.

Decided to check my fictional league I just started and the brilliant at doubles catchers do seem to be in abundance.
Of the 56 catchers in my Initial Draft: 27 - Brilliant in 2B's 26 - Good in 2B's 2 - Average in 2B's 1 - Fair in doubles I agree this should be tweaked |

Ah ha! I'm glad this was confirmed. Thanks all.
I found myself editing all the darn catchers because it seemed like they were just about ALL Brilliant. Stuff like that just drives me nuts but I'm sure the developers will handle it quickly. |

How important are double and triple ratings? Juan Uribe had 12 in doubles in some 2002 roster sets and he still wasn't all that great...

I've found them to be very important.
One reason I found this problem was that the top doubles hitters in both my leagues were always catchers. And that was with them having fewer PA's than other position players. |
