Question does this cost monthly?

i was thinking of purchasing this game but need to find out if it cost monthly to play online? and i would like to know how its set up, i saw in previous post about past players and teams being replayed..is there a way to play the 2003 season and future yrs to come?? plaease explain as much as you can so i can decide if i want to purchase this game.. i am compairing to baseball mogul 2003, if anyone is familiar with that game.. the difference is 15$ in price and trying to see if this game is better and worth the extra $$.. i played baseball mogul 2002 and it seemed so hard to find a active league, but i like the game in itself.

also is this game set up as to when im at work its sim'ing? then come back to see injuries, winners, ect.. please explain

thanks

No, there is no monthly cost to play online.

Yes, you can sim by day, week, month, season, or multiple seasons.

I think it is definitely worth the extra $15, it is the deepest baseball simulation game.

I know that some (VERY few) online leagues may have "dues" of sorts but most do not and it is not required to be able to play. I think that you will find the game cost to game value to be quite good. Thanks for giving us a try.

The understatement of the year. You can sim, you can play out each game, you can play online, you can relive any era in baseball history, you can create you own history with yourself as the stud #1 starting pitcher of your favorite team...

If you compare the money you will spend on this game with the number of hours you'll spend living and dying with your favorite baseball club...the cost to value ratio is EXTREMELY good. The words "infinite replayability" apply here.

And, no, I don't work for 400 Software Studios, I don't know Steve, and I don't know Markus.

If you compare the money spent ($35) to the amount of time and replayability that exists in the game (Infinite, though I'm easily over 200 hours by now [ a VERY conservative estimate]) I've paid .17 per minute of enjoyment and figure that eventually I will have paid around a penny for every hour I got out of it. I'm in the year 2033 in my Blue Jays simulation and consistantly keeping the team competetive is a lot of fun.

In case it just takes one more... I will echo the sentiment of everyone else. This game is tops in baseball sims. I used to play Mogul, but there wasn't enough depth. I used to play DMB, but there wasn't a career mode, and it was too dry. OOTP is the best of both worlds.
