Should I expect the boot?
Finished 2021 at 68-94 in my 4th season as an expansion team, records of 60-102, 73-89, and 49-113 before that. Lenient owner came into season angry, stayed angry through the rough first half but upgraded to worried during a strong finish. Goals are;
Play close to .500 ball - (red) Upgrade position CF by this year - (yellow) Acquire power hitter by next year - (orange) Increase profit 2 years from now - (green) Find top prospect by next year - (blue for the #7 prospect) Top 6 farm by next year - (blue for #3 system after coming into season with no top 100 prospects) Make playoffs by 2026 Like I said lenient, mood was improved in August and never downgraded, my only deadline failure was the season record, and 2 of the goals were big successes ahead of schedule. His timetable for the playoffs seems reasonable, so I sort of feel safe. Currently managing AFL team and watching the playoffs. |

I'm not sure. I'd imagine a lenient owner will give you the benefit of the doubt and keep you around for an extra year even if you might not deserve it. I'd probably just cross my fingers and play to the next day. The anticipation of stuff like that keeps the game fun for me.

Hoping I get to stick around to manage next year's rookies. The rightfielder from my blockbuster pitching staff for a farm system(I sent a red hot starter and 2 vet relievers plus throw ins to the Blue Jays for 2 top prospects, SP and a RF, along with a solid SP who stepped into rotation in August and was respectable, and throw ins) looks like a middle of the lineup anchor, and my #1 pick(rangey surehanded 2B with horrible arm who I converted to 1B) projects even better though I'll give him a full season in AAA.
Plus my AA 2B jumped 2 full stars in overall even though his numbers there weren't so great. AND a 20 year old reliever I purchased from an independent rookie league dominated AAA too hard not to be on next year's roster(ERA and WHIP both under 1.00). Then a minor league FA who I thought was filler 2 years ago either had massive TCR or was inaccurately scouted, jumped from 1 to 3 stars, rocketed through to AAA and projects to be back of rotation eventually but not next year. |
