Can I set up a supplemental draft?
Specifically so teams can draft 5 rounds from an indie rookie level league which is designed to snap up free agents, with a max player age of 22.

i don't think that can be automated, entirely, but you can set it up each year yourself for sure. we can edit/export/import draft pools, now.
for that league setup a 5 round draft. you'll have to re-create the draft pool each year with the players you want available.. maybe a good idea to delete the fictionally creaeted ones too. you could do this fairly easily, but some elbow grease would be required. e.g. a filtered (free agents, age<22 et al.) list exported could be used to create the drat pool list without much effort. just copy/paste type work. choosing a "FA draft" function may be quicker? you'd still have to export the draft class and remove >22 or whatever else doesn't fit criteria. those draft functions sometimes do things we don't expect.. .e.g. if like the inaugural it will also include an entire rookie draft class... ~35rounds of prospects included with the thousands of MLB/MiL players makes for a loaded MiL system with another draft for the year on the way. inaugural drafts causes a oversaturation of talent -- at least temporarily. |
