One thing I really think needs to be changed is the fact that Offseason trading is dependent on the Financials being enabled.
I don’t want to enable Financials but I’d like to see offseason trading. This can’t possibly be a difficult change and I think it would add a lot to the game. |

Excellent point, Kemp! You must be smart AND good looking!

I didn't realize that was the case since I always play with financial mode enabled.
Excellent point. |

What I have to do is Enable Financials before proceeding to the next season every year. But in doing that, I also have to make sure that no player contracts actually expire (because I don’t want any free agent signings). It’s a real pain and I ALMOST forgot to edit the contracts 1 year which really would have aggravated me.
I’ve brought this up a number of times in the past but I can’t seem to get anyone to respond to it. To me, it's GOT to be a simple programming fix for Markus because it's just a matter of removing the Offseason trading logic from the Financials routine and making it independent. |

That sounds like too much to do in between seasons. Maybe it will be a fix at some point.

It IS too much work. And what I've finding out through some tests is that it doesn't really work because the financials get screwed up (since I only turn them on to activate the offseason trading).
If I could get ANYONE from the development team to even HINT that they may look at this, I'd stop bumping this thread. Doesn't anyone else play without financials? If so, haven't they missed offseason trading? |

I think you deserve to get this bug fixed just based on the funniest bump I ever did read.
:0 Seriously though, I don't know how you play without financials. Of course, I used to say that about traditional players ratings and now . . . Hmm, maybe I need to try another season. |

I considered playing with financials but I just don't want to be bothered with all the big market/small market stuff. I have my own form of free agency that I'm able to simulate with a simple Excel spreadsheet using a random number generator.
It's a long story but it gives me better control over player movement and I think it simulates baseball in the 70's and 80's better. |
