Ideal image size for posting to this forum

This subject has probably been posted before, but I can't find any info.

My question is: What is the ideal size for an image posted on this forum?

I use a image posting website to upload my images and then insert the image using it's URL to this forum. I have been using 800 x 600 and sometimes 640 x 480.

Not sure which is ideal, or if another size is better!

I have gone with 1024x768 before and it works pretty well. I think 800x600 would be ideal.
