The more I understand why you really only need two per season. The opening day/week and the trade deadline. There is so much roster activity between the NHL, AHL, and ECHL, it's like chasing your tail when it comes to staying current.

We try to keep our rosters as well as we can. Last year was a little unexpected because well...honestly, no one saw what Vegas was going to do.

I'm well aware, which is why I feel that other than maybe including the major trades along the way, opening day and trade deadline rosters are really the only must haves.
